Static, falling force

in splendid magnificence

streaming red, yellow, orange down

among multi-hued greens

glowing in sun-captured leaves

midst silent encroachment

spreading swiftly each day

until color flow depleted.

relic of Rodinia

more likely Pangea piece

as super-continent clue

long ago solidified

as planetary crust

keeping its deep-time secrets

beyond imagination’s limit

fleeting human certitude

only unrequited wonderment.
