Gray-green sagebrush
well bleached grasses
crowding the desert plantscape
to casual eye and casual mind
not admitting others
missing, missing
startling green
tropical lush wild rhubarb
still surviving broad of leaf
remnant of optimistic times
making its last stand
sunbathing, basking.
