Cut Flowers

Bouquet of summer flowers
levitating
above the kitchen table

suspended by
brilliant energy
coursing through rainbow colors

prismatic sunlight
trapped inside
kaleidoscopic petals

dropping singly
without notice
at quickening mortal pace.
