Cabin within Autumn's grasp
enveloped in brilliant hues
each window's splendid views
framed as separate paintings
landscapes in plein-air
filled with fall-blooming foliage
prismatic images
of rich, luminous colors
Mother Nature as artist
beyond impresssionistic.
The ball is over
glass slippers scattered
seasonal chimes ring silent
time to bid farewell
no encores allowed
festive gowns undone
limbs stripped bare and clean
earrings dangling here and there
few stragglers still aglow
loathe to leave the scene
dance hall quite bereft
just some pumpkins left.
