Peak blooming season
in its autumnal glory
swashbuckling gardens
with tree-size blossoms
sumptuously rich reds
fluorescent oranges
still-soft chartreuses
undulating among dark-green spikes
too grand to gather
for vase display
but arranged, rearranged
for memory’s pleasure.
